Our Process
The LifeSpan™ Certification product qualification process is extensive, but it leads to a highly-coveted goal: The endorsement of the your product by LifeSpan™ Certification, and the right to apply our name and logo stamp on the label and packaging of your product (e.g., the license for use). Our official logo stamp gives your product dramatically enhanced access and appeal to wholesalers, distributors, affiliates, retailers, and, of course, consumers. With a powerful halo effect that multiplies sales of all of your products and your business in general, certification is an extraordinarily powerful benefit.
The steps to our certification process include: application, evaluation (with possible feedback), and license for use. As a member, you may access our application form by going to our Application Section.
Our evaluation criteria for endorsement and certification of any specific product being sold or to be sold by a member company are described below, in general terms:
A product must be free of impurities (such as heavy metal toxins, unnecessary fillers and extenders, etc.), and this must be certified by an acceptable independent, third-party laboratory. The amount (measure) of actual effective product must be precise, and must be uniform in every apportioned dose.
The bioavailability (and potency per dose) of the product must be one of the highest, if not the highest, in the industry. This may be achieved in different ways, depending upon the product. For example, some products employ such added ingredients as BioPerine® or B vitamins, while others might employ a novel delivery system such as liposomal, transdermal, sublingual, etc.
Sourcing, from raw materials (obtained through agriculture, harvesting, the laboratory, etc.) through manufacture must be sustainable, eco-friendly, environmentally sound, humane, and respectful of persons (i.e., the labor employed) and property.
Clean manufacturing, in terms of the absence of allergens and toxins is essential, as is the cGMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) certification. The manufacturing process, in its entirety, must be safe, humane, respectful of persons, and pollution-minimal; this latter consideration, especially in consideration of CO2 emissions and the minimization of the carbon footprint, is becoming increasingly important. Consumers have become environmentally aware, and their preferences must be addressed.
Accuracy, transparency, and disclosure are keys to acceptable packaging and labeling, as is the use of environmentally- and ecologically-responsible materials (preferably pollution-minimal and readily biodegradable) in packaging, labeling, and shipping to distributors and consumers.
Delivery protocols must be demonstrably reliable, reasonable, and responsible, whether delivery is in bulk to distributors or direct to consumers.
Customer-friendly refunds and returns policy for the subject supplement must be, at the very least, at the industry standard, and at best, exceptionally good.
Each of the above criteria must be addressed and demonstrated to a standard acceptable to LifeSpan™ Certification in its discretion.
Note: The costs associated with mandated impartial third-party testing and assessments, as well as for compliance, are always borne by the Applicant, who is also responsible for identifying and retaining the services of qualified and acceptable third-party agencies to facilitate this process. LifeSpan™ Certification at all times retains a right to a review of any product’s certification and an inspection of member facilities and practices upon reasonable notice at our own cost. This is essential in order to ensure the ongoing integrity of any issued certification, and certification of any product may be rescinded in the event that any of the appropriate criteria is not continually being satisfactorily met.
